Man's Victorian Waist Coat

Man's Victorian Waist Coat

This is a Mid Victorian Waist coat that I made on commission. It is made from a herringbone wool. It is slightly longer and the collar sits closer to the body than the earlier Victorian waist coat I have pictured in this section. It is double breasted with two welt pockets. My favorite detail is the pewter buttons with thistle flowers.

As I am limited to two male dress forms and three female, this vest ended up on a form that was too small for it. Please forgive the slack across the back in the photo. It does not accurately reflect the garment's fit.
