Victorian Chemises

Victorian Chemises

I greatly enjoy the challenge of making something new out of something old so Im always collecting old bed spreads, table clothes, curtains and such that I can re-purpose into new items. Here are two example of chemises I made for Dickens' Fair out of recycled materials. The first one is made out of a duvet cover and had matching drawers (not pictured) and the second was made for an eyelet curtain. Both have raglan sleeve and draw string necklines which are my preferred construction for chemises because it allows for a variety of necklines and different sizes of wearers. Both come to just below the knee.
