Quilted Petticoat

Quilted Petticoat

Perhaps the first staple of any period wardrobe is a good petticoat. Many people might shy away from a quilted petticoat because they think that they are too hot or too heavy. This petticoat may be heavier than a single petticoat, but it makes up for that because it provides more volume. As for being too warm, I personally think that quilted petticoats are nicer because they stand away from your legs a little bit, providing a little air and extra space. This helps to keep the petticoat from tangling around your legs when you are dancing. This particular one is made from white quilted cotton with a wide cotton eyelet ruffle. Quilted cotton is not easy to find. Mostly it is cotton on one side and then a non-woven material on the back, so if you are thinking about a quilted petticoat, start thinking far in advance of when you will need it.

Petticoat #2 is a cream quilted petticoat with a beautiful floral design and eyelet ruffle made from cotton.

Petticoat #3 is a white cotton matlasse petticoat with a deep eyelet ruffle.
