Goblin Mask

Goblin Mask

Since we went to Labyrinth of Jareth this summer up until Halloween there was only one thing that my son wanted to be and that was a Goblin! That consistency gave me license to go all out for his Halloween costume. I am hopeful that it will fit him next summer for Labyrinth of Jareth. The Styrofoam heads that are just a little to small to be really useful are almost exactly the right proportion and size for a childs head. I sculpted the mask on a head and then molded the Variform onto it (Image #3). I have never used this technique before so it was quite a learning experience. I then covered the Variform in a cotton harem cloth that I had dyed a sickly shade of green. I painted on it and added warts and latex ears that I purchased. I also painted the ears to match. I stitched a cheep witch wig on the back and chopped and ratted it up.
