In Progress
Here is a steampunk-esque adventuress costume I have designed for myself. Im currently working on it between other projects. Other people's projects take priority and with RenFair and Dickens' coming up, I probably wont do much more work on it until January.
The Plan:
One of the nice things about doing stuff for myself is that I dont have to follow my own instructions to the letter, but here is the plan as it stands.
Goggles: purchase and embellish
Arm braces: Make from hardened leather to match corset and boots from embossed & guilt leather. Depends somewhat on if I can get the boots I want.
Corset: This will be my first leather corset. I have made many other leather goods and its no wonder I want to try a leather corset as I have been having a lots of fun with leather. We will see if it ends up being part leather or completely leather. Embossed or cut work or some combination of the above. I know I want buckles and rings on the bottom to hang all the things I will need for my adventures. Im working on adding more as I develop the character.
Boots: I love the Timberland Guiltin boots. I just have to find a pair in my size. . .
Hooded Spencer: Made from sueded twill in an off white. I may over dye it for tone and texture. Edges will be finished with a long fur. Id like something that looks like monkey but in white.
Skirt: Same material as Spencer.
Bloomers: Looking for a milk chocolate brown that is stiff enough to create some volume and look sturdy and durable.
