Toby Costume

This year we all went to the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball. (http://www.labyrinthmasquerade.com) I made new costumes for my husband and son. My son went as Toby from the movie. You wouldn't believe how long and hard I shopped for red and white stripped knit. Now that Christmas is coming you can find it anywhere but the ball was in June. I also spent many hours shopping for the red and white buttons. I eventually found a nice woman was selling off her life's collection of buttons.

Here you see the costume on my half scale dress form. The set is a jumper with a shirt over it. If you look closely at picture #3 you can see Toby's shirt ridding up under his left elbow. I added snaps to the crotch even though I'm sure the actual costume didn't have this convince. Also after I finished the costume I found a frame on the DVD where it is obvious that there is only one button on the shoulder rather than the two I thought that I had observed.
