De Young Museum Projects

What a beautiful dress! Although I could have made the dress, I didn't have that privilege. Working for the De Young Museum of San Francisco I had the opportunity to create undergarments for several of their antique garments. This particular dress was worn by Mrs. John Muir at their wedding. It came to the museum from the California State Parks System for concervation. I made the petticoat from cotton for cleaning and durability. There are rows and rows of ruffles, control tapes and a small bum pad.
