Period Garments

Hoops of the 1860s slope out further in the back than the front. There are several techniques that are important to developing and balancing this silhouette. I incorporated several unique feature to make it more comfortable to wear during a romping polka and to control the swing during a fast waltz. I enjoyed patterning, cutting, fitting and stitching these underskirts for myself.
